Shopping in Guangzhou, China

Dear All...

My family and I only a week ago visited China...
A lot of people say that this country produces a lot of stuff, from very cheap price stuff to the stuff that is really expensive. And of course our purpose to go there is to find considerably cheap stuff with fair quality.

BAIMA  白马

One of the places that is really famous to clothing shoppers is Baima ,白马 literally means White Horse. We went there by Didi (an online taxi). For more info about Didi see the following link Slow Chinese Didi Siji (Supir Didi)

For how we ordered Didi in China with Indonesian cell phone number, there will be another story for this. Or you can take ditie/ subway, a mass transport that is very cheap.

We talked to the Didi driver when we were on his car. I asked whether the prices in Baima was cheap. And to my surprise he said "Nabian hen gui" (Things are very expensive there)... well we were almost there when he said there... so we decided to give it a try.
Yes, the average prices are still above prices in our country.

We were there for about an hour or so...going round just to see what they sold.

There was something interesting though: almost in every shop there was one model, standing on the platform, dressing with the dress they were promoting. These models changed to different clothes after one hour or so to other clothes they were selling. They DID it on the platform. It was interesting to see these girls wore the latest fashion clothes...

Address of Baima:
16 Zhannan Rd,
Yuexiu Qu,
 Guangzhou Shi,
Guangdong Sheng, Tiongkok, 510000

How to get there and more info about Baima, pls visit this link:

How to get to Baima Clothing Wholesale Market?

If you plan to go to Baima Clothing Wholesale Market, you can take Guangzhou Metro, and get off Guangzhou Railway Station and D4 exit, and walk about 260 meters to Zhannan Road (Baima Clothing Market) Stop.

The next day we went to
ShangXiaJiu pedestrian street/上下九步行街

I found this area more interesting and more relaxing... a fairly big street, both sides of the road were shops with interesting articles to sell. From accessories, clothes, T-shirts, shoes, souvenirs, small restaurants with local food and we saw a Mac Donald resto And we can some really cheap stuff here too!! They sometimes give big discounts to attract buyers.

To my excitement was that along  the road there are bronze statues that we could take photos with.
So fun...:)

I also found a hat that I had been looking for, a big hat to protect me from the heat of the sun and some leather bags.
My daughter found a dress with a fair price.... My boy and husband bought sun-glasses...
We enjoyed the popular milk tea in Guangzhou by the name 1diandian/ 1点点。。。 usual after a fairly long queue...

According Wikipedia, the place is  composed of the unique and historical architecture based on Tong Lau and teahouses, featuring the characteristics of Europeanand Chinese styles...

All of us enjoyed our visit to this place.

By the way we ate Chinese food at the small resto called Gongfu..a restaurant with the picture icon of Bruce Lee.

The food wa really BUCUO or meaning not bad, and the portion was big enough for our hungry tummies.
